In Sinistereo resurrects Zombina and the Skeletones’ four lost digital EPs from 2015 to 2017, capturing every shade of Liverpool’s beloved horror-pop misfits.

Liverpool’s cult horror-pop outfit Zombina and the Skeletones have risen from the crypt once again with a treat for longtime fans: In Sinistereo, the first-ever physical release of their 2015–2017 EP quadrilogy. Originally issued as digital downloads during what would become the band’s final creative gasp before an extended silence, these four EPs captured the full scope of Zombina and Doc Horror’s gloriously twisted universe.

Each EP focused on a distinct side of their sound: the thrashy, the trashy, the bubblegum-flavored, and the obscure, charting a complete anatomy of the Skeletones’ horror-pop DNA. From breakneck punk bursts to haunted surf grooves and campy monster anthems, the collection feels like a time capsule from a band that’s always balanced chaos with charm.

Formed in Liverpool in 1998, Zombina and the Skeletones carved out their own corner of the horror-punk underground with their mix of garage energy, doo-wop sweetness, and B-movie mischief. Albums like Taste the Blood of Zombina and the Skeletones and Out of the Crypt and Into Your Heart built a cult following across Europe, fueled by theatrical live shows and a flair for the undead that never took itself too seriously.

After nearly a decade of silence, their return with The Call of Zombina in 2024 reminded listeners why this band hiding under your bed still mattered. In Sinistereo closes the coffin lid on their earlier era, the last pulse before the long sleep, and cements the band’s legacy as the UK’s most melodic monsters of horror-pop.
