Willow Avalon’s Pink Pocket Pistol is locked and loaded with piercing lyrics, Southern swagger, and tales of sweet revenge. Guests include Jason Isbell and Midland.

Some country albums are content to take the quiet backroads, but then there are the ones intent on settling scores. Pink Pocket Pistol is the latter, with Willow Avalon wearing a sly grin while wrapping cutting storytelling and enough attitude to leave burn marks. The Georgia-born singer-songwriter, whose breakout debut Southern Belle Raisin' Hell established her as one of Nashville's most daring new voices, leans even further into her outsider instincts here. Drawing inspiration from the haunting elegance of '60s country, Avalon fills Pink Pocket Pistol with dark humor, mystery, and fed-up women who refuse to stay victims. In her world, villains rarely ride off into the sunset, they get what they deserve.

The early singles offered plenty of warning. "Hypothetically Speaking," a fiery duet with Kaitlin Butts, crackles with Southern sass and delicious wickedness, while "Easy On The Eyes" showcases Avalon's gift for pairing vulnerability with big-time hooks. Then there's "Cardinal Sin," featuring Jason Isbell, a team up that feels like a campfire meeting of two master storytellers. The song highlights Avalon's unmistakable voice and the lyrical bite that's quickly become her calling card.

"Pink Pocket Pistol is a mix of the lyricism and sassy storylines I've continuously written, with more darkness, mystery and a '60s country feel," Avalon says. "I went in with an idea in my head, and we walked out a week later with it fully executed." That bravado echoes throughout the album, where every chord change feels purposeful and every twist lands with meaningful theatrics. Avalon's sense of humor remains one of her greatest weapons. Describing "Hypothetically Speaking," she quips, "Hell hath no fury like two big-haired Southern women," a line that perfectly captures the album's fearless spirit.

Raised in rural Georgia by her mother and grandmother, Avalon grew up singing in church before teaching herself guitar at 12, channeling life's complexities into songs that blur the line between autobiography and folklore. Since then, she's appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, CBS Mornings, and the Grand Ole Opry, earned a spot in the 2026 Opry NextStage class, toured alongside artists ranging from Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan to Zach Bryan. With Pink Pocket Pistol, Willow Avalon is refining a singular voice that proves revenge has never sounded so sweet. Or this entertaining.
