Celebrating four decades of boundary-pushing metal mayhem, Canadian progressive sci-fi pioneers Voivod unleash their momentous anniversary release, Morgöth Tales.

This special compilation features fresh studio re-recordings by the band's current lineup of nine carefully selected tracks, handpicked from Voivod's remarkable and genre-defying back catalog. But that's not all - the album also includes a brand-new song, the eponymous title track "Morgöth Tales," showcasing the band's ever-evolving sonic explorations.

Recorded and mixed by Francis Perron at RadicArt Studio, with mastering by Maor Appelbaum, Morgöth Tales is a testament to Voivod's enduring creative chaos. Produced by the band themselves, the album also boasts special guest appearances from former Voivod members Eric "E-Force" Forrest (vocals on "Rise") and Jason “Jasonic” Newsted (ex-Metallica/Flotsam And Jetsam, bass on "Rebel Robot"), honoring the band's rich history.

Drummer Michel "Away" Langevin shares his thoughts on Morgöth Tales: "This album covers 40 years of space exploration. It was truly exciting for us to revisit a more obscure part of the Voïvod catalog, delving into thrash-punk, prog-metal, and beyond. The title track is a new song that we began writing during the Opeth European tour in November/December 2022, while traveling on the tour bus and in hotel rooms. It embodies the experimental sound we're currently exploring, with a fresh twist. We were also thrilled to have E-Force and Jasonic involved in this album. I hope you'll dig it - Chewy, Rocky, Snake, and I certainly had a blast recording it. All aboard and ready for takeoff!"

Morgöth Tales follows in the wake of Voivod's critically acclaimed and Juno Awards-nominated 15th studio album, Synchro Anarchy (2022), which stormed into the German album sales charts, peaking at an impressive #7. Fans can get the album in various formats, including a limited-edition CD with a bonus track, a cover of Public Image Ltd's "Home," as well as a 180g vinyl LP accompanied by a 4-page booklet. Once again, the cover artwork for Morgöth Tales is crafted by Voivod's own Michel "Away" Langevin, adding another layer of artistic depth to the album's visual presentation.

With Morgöth Tales, Voivod once again prove their status as true innovators and pioneers in the realm of progressive metal. This anniversary release is a testament to their enduring legacy and an invitation to join an interstellar odyssey that spans four decades of groundbreaking musical exploration.
