Magic Power: All Star Tribute to Triumph brings together rock heavyweights like Slash, Sebastian Bach, Dee Snider, and Nancy Wilson to crank up the voltage on the Canadian trio’s biggest anthems.
Triumph’s legacy gets a high-voltage jolt with Magic Power: All Star Tribute to Triumph, a 15-track salute to the Canadian power trio, as a stacked deck of some of rock's biggest names breathe new fire into the anthems that helped define arena rock.
Handpicked by producer Mike Clink (Appetite for Destruction and Girls, Girls, Girls), the tribute bridges eras and styles, tapping everyone from Slash and Nancy Wilson to Sebastian Bach, Dee Snider, Joey Belladonna, Phil X, and members of Journey, Night Ranger, Styx, and Jefferson Starship. The result is a high-octane celebration of Triumph’s trailblazing catalog.
Two doses of Sebastian Bach open the set, tearing through “24 Hours a Day” and “Rock & Roll Machine.” Anthrax's Joey Belladonna brings full vocal thunder to “Magic Power,” Dee Snider leans into the emotion of “Lay It on the Line,” and Nancy Wilson lifts “Fight the Good Fight” with her signature melodic grace. Elsewhere, Dorothy Martin and Tyler Connolly (Theory of a Deadman) team up on a swaggering “I Live for the Weekend,” while Envy of None and Dino Jelusick push “Blinding Light Show” and the encore version of “Fight the Good Fight” into uncharted territory.
Also on board: Phil X, who calls the project a return to his roots, and Deen Castronovo, who credits Triumph’s Gil Moore for inspiring him to sing from behind the kit. Drummers Kenny Aronoff and Tommy Aldridge and guitarists Bumblefoot, Paul Gilbert, and Nita Strauss bring their own thunder to the mix.
Formed in Mississauga in 1975, Triumph became synonymous with big sound, big ideas, and even bigger stage productions. Their legendary shows at the US Festival, Texxas Jam, and Day on the Green set a new standard for rock spectacle. Decades later, Magic Power proves the songs still hit just as hard.
