The Temperance Movement begin a new chapter with New Promise Land Incorporated, an album that captures the British rock band reunited, reenergized and playing with the kind of chemistry that made them such a popular live act in the first place.

After spending half a decade away from the stage, the band returned in 2025 to a reception that made it clear their audience hadn’t gone anywhere. Shows sold out, bigger venues were lined up to meet demand, and the response quickly led to festival offers and, ultimately, a return to the studio.

Working with acclaimed producer Ethan Johns, whose credits include Kings of Leon and Laura Marling, the Temperance Movement set out to preserve the spontaneity and muscle of musicians playing together in a room. New Promise Land Incorporated carries that live-to-record approach throughout, reconnecting the five bandmates around the soulful, blues-rooted rock that has long been at the heart of their sound.

That renewed energy comes roaring through on the psychedelic-tinged “Shadows,” while “Mongrels” pulls things inward with a gentler, more reflective performance. “Saving Grace” shows another side of the record, pairing an understated arrangement with some of the album’s most affecting songwriting.

New Promise Land Incorporated ultimately sounds like five musicians rediscovering what happens when they get in a room together and simply play. With a 21-date tour following the album’s release, the Temperance Movement are taking that connection back where it has always mattered most: the stage.
