The Red Clay Strays Grateful is a Southern Rock revival fueled by faith and a record less concerned with celebrating success than acknowledging the long road that led to this point.

For The Red Clay Strays, success didn't arrive overnight. It came through years of relentless touring, never-ending belief in their mission, and songs that toed the line between country, soul, gospel, and rock and roll. On their new album, Grateful, the group pauses to reflect on that journey, delivering their most celebratory and spiritual record yet.

Produced once again by nine-time Grammy winner Dave Cobb, Grateful is the sound of a band embracing the music that’s propelled them from hometown bars to sold-out arenas while also taking it in new directions. The opening track, "Demons In Your Choir," immediately illustrates that evolution. Beginning with a haunting organ melody before exploding into a foot-stomping anthem complete with roving guitar riffs and a soaring gospel choir led by Grammy-winning musician Shannon Sanders, the song feels like a revival meeting colliding with a Southern rock stomper.

"It's a different sound," frontman Brandon Coleman has said, and he's right. While the band's signature blend of fire and soul remains intact, Grateful explores new territory without sacrificing what they do best. Recorded between Cobb's Savannah studio and Nashville's legendary RCA Studio A, the sessions benefited from a newfound sense of confidence and collaboration. Coleman, Drew Nix, Andrew Bishop, Zach Rishel, John Hall, and Sevans Henderson worked more organically than ever, shaping songs together and allowing ideas to develop naturally in the room. That chemistry shines throughout the album. The fiery "People Hatin'" channels the band's live-show energy, while "If I Didn't Know You" offers one of the most tender performances in their catalog, showcasing the depth that’s become a hallmark of their songwriting.

At its core, however, Grateful is an album about perspective. Where Moment Of Truth wrestled with faith during hardship and Made By These Moments examined the lessons learned from adversity, Grateful arrives at a place of appreciation. The band's spiritual foundation remains central, but the message is broader than religion alone. It's about surviving uncertainty, finding purpose through struggle, and recognizing the blessings that emerge on the other side.

The Red Clay Strays have spent years proving they belonged in the conversation. With Grateful, they sound like a band no longer chasing validation. Instead, they're celebrating the view from a summit they earned one song, one mile, and one leap of faith at a time. Following the breakout success of their Gold-certified debut Moment Of Truth and the acclaimed Made By These Moments, which spawned the triple-Platinum hit "Wondering Why," they’ve become one of roots music's biggest bands.
