Celebrating over 50 years of blues and rock excellence, the Fabulous Thunderbirds release Struck Down, their electrifying new album featuring collaborations with music icons like Billy F Gibbons, Elvin Bishop, Bonnie Raitt, Mick Fleetwood, and more.

Celebrating over five decades of musical greatness, the Fabulous Thunderbirds stand as icons of contemporary blues and blues rock. Led by founding member Kim Wilson, the band's legacy is defined by classic albums like T-Bird Rhythm and the platinum-selling Tuff Enuff, featuring chart-topping hits such as the title track and "Wrap It Up." With six Grammy nominations and over 20 Blues Music Award nods under their belt, the Fabulous Thunderbirds have carved out a lasting impact on rock 'n' roll.

The band now marks their 50th anniversary with the release of Struck Down, their first studio album in eight years. This new record, featuring nine original compositions co-written by Wilson and Steve Strongman, alongside a standout cover of Memphis Minnie’s "Nothing In Rambling," was produced by Wilson, Strongman, and Glen Parrish.

The new album showcases a lineup of stellar guest artists, including Billy F Gibbons of ZZ Top on the single "Payback Time" and a star-studded ensemble featuring Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal, Keb’ Mo’, and Mick Fleetwood on the mesmerizing "Nothing In Rambling." From the opening blues-infused track "Struck Down By The Blues" to the Cajun-flavored "Don’t Make No Sense" featuring Terrance Simien on accordion, and “Watcha Do To Me” with Elvin Bishop, the album delivers a blend of soulful rhythms and electrifying melodies.

The band's enduring appeal is evident by their international touring success, consistently selling out venues and headlining major festivals. The current lineup features Wilson on vocals and harmonica, Johnny Moeller on guitar, Bob Welsh on keyboards and guitar, Rudy Albin on drums, and Steve Kirsty on bass.

From their debut self-titled album in 1979 to later releases like T-Bird Rhythm and the commercial hit Tuff Enuff, the Fabulous Thunderbirds continuously evolved their sound, blending blues with Cajun, rock 'n' roll, and soul influences. Despite lineup changes over the years, Kim Wilson's unwavering commitment to the band's musical vision has kept them thriving, ensuring their place as enduring legends in American music.
