The Dead Daisies rip into the blues on Lookin’ For Trouble, a Muscle Shoals-recorded blast of raw power that turns time-honored classics into hard-hitting, high-octane rockers.
The Dead Daisies dive headfirst into the heart of the blues on Lookin’ For Trouble, turning revered standards into raw, revved-up rockers with all the grit and glory they’ve become known for. Recorded live at the legendary FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, this new album is a full-throttle love letter to the blues, electrified with the band’s trademark muscle and swagger. Across ten knockout tracks, they tear into classics like “Crossroads,” “Boom Boom,” and “Born Under a Bad Sign” with the ferocity of a band that’s been in the trenches, and still knows how to swing hard.
Leading the charge is frontman John Corabi, who calls the blues “the soul of music today.” That reverence runs deep, but Lookin’ For Trouble isn’t about storing relics in a musical museum. It’s about reanimating the ghosts, cranking the amps, and letting the spirit of the blues crash headlong into the Dead Daisies’ bruising brand of hard rock. Their take on Robert Johnson’s “Crossroads” sets the tone, which Raised By Cassettes has called “a high-energy, soul-drenched performance that bridges past and present.”
And they don’t stop there. Whether it’s the swampy stomp of “Sweet Home Chicago” or the slow-burn heartbreak of “The Thrill Is Gone,” the band injects each track with grit, groove, and plenty of guitar firepower courtesy of Doug Aldrich. “We put a new spin on the tunes and it came out really awesome,” Aldrich says. “It was incredible to record in such hallowed blues ground.”
Now over a decade deep into their run, the Dead Daisies have built a career on keeping rock reckless and real. With Lookin’ For Trouble, they salute the genre that started it all, then throw it into overdrive.
