Taylor Acorn channels the rush of classic pop-punk into a set of songs built on honesty, energy, and emotion, delivering an album that feels nostalgic, fresh, and completely her own.

Taylor Acorn’s story starts with grit, not glamour. Growing up in Northern Pennsylvania, she spent her teens fronting a pop-punk band, already chasing something louder and more honest than what a track and field scholarship could offer. She walked away from athletics and dove straight into the hustle, grinding through restaurant shifts, posting covers to YouTube, and playing local shows until the right people finally noticed.

That momentum took her to Nashville, where a creative spark with producer Dan Swank pushed everything into focus. Together, they tapped into the energy of the early 2000s pop-punk era she grew up on and brought it into the present. The viral covers followed, along with a surge of fans who connected with her mix of nostalgia and vulnerability.

Her new album, Poster Child, makes good on that promise. It opens with the infectious jolt of “People Pleaser,” all punch and melody, then winds toward the soaring closer “Masquerade.” Across the album, Acorn moves with purpose. She knows when to lean into power and when to let the bottom drop out emotionally, and that instinct keeps every track anchored in something real.

Early reactions echo what fans already feel. New Noise Magazine wrote that the album “has a great mix of upbeat, danceable songs along with the singer-songwriter style that Taylor does so well.” while Kerrang! shared that “Poster Child bares its teeth and sulks with an attitude like the golden days of snarling ’00s pop-rock.”

“When people listen to this album, I want them to feel like they’re back in a time that makes them feel good,” said Acorn. And she delivers exactly that: a record grounded in the music that shaped her, lifted by the honesty that continues to build her community one listener at a time.
