Taylor Acorn’s story starts with grit, not glamour. Growing up in Northern Pennsylvania, she spent her teens fronting a pop-punk band, already chasing something louder and more honest than what a track and field scholarship could offer. She walked away from athletics and dove straight into the hustle, grinding through restaurant shifts, posting covers to YouTube, and playing local shows until the right people finally noticed.
That momentum took her to Nashville, where a creative spark with producer Dan Swank pushed everything into focus. Together, they tapped into the energy of the early 2000s pop-punk era she grew up on and brought it into the present. The viral covers followed, along with a surge of fans who connected with her mix of nostalgia and vulnerability.
Her new album, Poster Child, makes good on that promise. It opens with the infectious jolt of “People Pleaser,” all punch and melody, then winds toward the soaring closer “Masquerade.” Across the album, Acorn moves with purpose.
