Steve Hackett of Genesis (1971-1977) releases his rite-of-passage concept album, The Circus And The Nightwhale, with a young protagonist named Travla at its core.

Recorded during Steve Hackett’s busy touring schedule in 2022 and 2023 at Siren Studio in the UK, The Circus And The Nightwhale features an impressive lineup of talented musicians. Alongside Hackett's electric and acoustic guitars, mandolin, harmonica, and vocals, you’ll find contributions from artists spanning the globe.

From Sweden to Azerbaijan, the collaborative effort includes familiar names like Roger King on keyboards, Rob Townsend on saxophone, and Jonas Reingold on bass. Vocalists Nad Sylvan and Amanda Lehmann lend their voices, while Craig Blundell holds down the drums. Additionally, guests like Nick D'Virgilio and Hugo Degenhardt make appearances, Benedict Fenner contributes on keyboards, and Malik Mansurov returns with the tar. Notably, Steve's brother, John Hackett, brings his flute to the mix, adding another layer of instrumentation to the album.

With its 13 mesmerizing tracks, The Circus And The Nightwhale offers listeners an autobiographical adventure, showcasing Hackett's profound musical expression.
