Spinal Tap return with The End Continues, a 13-track mix of new songs and classics featuring Elton John, Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks, and Trisha Yearwood, timed with the release of their long-awaited sequel film.
The Tap are back with The End Continues, a 13-track album arriving on the same day as the long-awaited sequel Spinal Tap II: The End Continues. The record mixes brand new originals with reimagined classics and features appearances from Elton John, Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks, and Trisha Yearwood. It's an album that blurs the line once again between parody and reality, reminding fans why the loudest band in England remains unforgettable.
Though born as a fictional creation, Spinal Tap have carved out a genuine place in rock history. Michael McKean, Christopher Guest, and Harry Shearer first donned the leather in 1979, but their 1984 film This Is Spinal Tap broke them through to a world of adoring fans. The film went on to influence generations of comedians and musicians alike, even earning preservation status in the Library of Congress. Over the years, Tap have taken their jokes to real stages from Wembley to Glastonbury, proving they could rock just as hard as the bands they were sending up.
Now, after fifteen years of silence, David St. Hubbins, Nigel Tufnel, and Derek Smalls reunite for what is billed as their final bow. The companion film, directed once more by Rob Reiner as Marty DiBergi, follows the chaos and glory of that last concert. The End Continues stands as the soundtrack to that story, offering a mix of humor, hooks, and genuine rock energy that keeps their mythology alive.
Four decades after they first turned it up to eleven, Spinal Tap show that even in the world of mockumentary legends, the riffs can still be loud, the cameos can still be huge, and the end, apparently, continues.
