Sleaford Mods return with new album UK GRIM, an urgent and sage-like look at life, living, and the gritty reality of our era.

Throughout their music, the duo’s poetic protest and electronic resistance has seen them consistency chart and call out their times with an eloquence and attitude that has made them one of the most urgent and unique voices in modern music. Continuing this sonic vocation on their new album, Jason Williamson and Andrew Fearn’s creative evolution now finds them capturing the atmosphere of their era too. Though no strangers to the dancefloor, the minimal yet immersive beats and grooves on UK GRIM add a new, physical dimension to Sleaford Mods’ sound that makes their words more vital than ever. Music for body AND mind. Featuring guest appearances from Jane’s Addiction’s Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro, plus Florence Shaw from Dry Cleaning, it’s the Nottingham duo’s most dancefloor friendly release to date.

The music video for the title track was directed by British collage Artist and satirist Cold War Steve, who has created a series of savage yet satirical artworks for the collaboration. This is his debut music video and debut animation having previously illustrated covers for Time Magazine and The New Statesman.

“Maybe we are proud of the country. Maybe we are proud to be English,” explains Jason Williamson of the band. “Maybe I’m proud of the horrible grey streets and the shit weather and the stupid fashions I find myself investing in. It’s just that the English we’re proud of being is absolutely nothing like the English the authorities want to try and promote.”

Sleaford Mods continue to be hailed by the likes of Liam Gallagher, Seth Myers, Iggy Pop, Amyl & The Sniffers, not to mention a legion of loyal fans whose devotion for the band would rival most sports supporters.
