The Pretty Reckless confront faith, temptation, and redemption on Dear God, one of the band's most personal albums yet.

The Pretty Reckless' Dear God arrives after a five-year gap between studio albums, but the wait has only sharpened the band's focus. Fronted by Taylor Momsen, the New York rock outfit has spent the better part of the past few years opening stadium shows for AC/DC while quietly working on what they've described as their most emotionally exposed record to date.

If Death By Rock And Roll was fueled by grief, survival, and hard-earned resilience, Dear God pushes deeper into the questions that linger after the dust settles. Across 14 tracks, Momsen and guitarist Ben Phillips explore faith, self-destruction, temptation, regret, and the search for something bigger than ourselves. The album's title alone hints at the themes running through it, but these songs aren't sermons. They're confessions.

The singles "For I Am Death," "When I Wake Up," "Love Me," and the title track reveal a band leaning into the darkness without surrendering to it. Momsen's voice remains one of rock's most distinctive instruments, equally capable of delivering a whisper, a warning, or a full-throated scream. Whether she's confronting personal demons or staring down existential questions, she sounds completely committed to every word.

What continues to set the Pretty Reckless apart is their ability to balance classic hard rock instincts with a modern sense of vulnerability. They've built one of the most consistent catalogs in contemporary rock by writing songs that feel earned rather than manufactured.

Dear God extends that streak. It's a record filled with tension, conviction, and the uneasy feeling that redemption is always just out of reach. For a band that has already conquered rock radio and arena stages, it proves there's still plenty left to say when the songs come from a place this personal.
