On yet another landmark release, Post Malone kicks off his next era with Twelve Carat Toothache, his fourth full-length album which includes the blockbuster singles "One Right Now" with The Weeknd, and “Cooped Up” with Roddy Ricch.

In late 2021, Post Malone tested the waters for a new record by dropping the explosive “One Right Now” with his Republic Records labelmate, The Weeknd. It vaulted into the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 and drummed up over one billion streams in a few months’ time. I’d say that was a successful test.

"One Right Now" and “Cooped Up,” which Malone performed on Saturday Night Live in May, were enough of a tease to make Twelve Carat Toothache one of this summer’s most-anticipated releases. It’s been three years since his last full-length release, so fans were primed and ready for new music. “Cooped Up” actually marks the second collaboration between Post and Roddy. In 2019, the Compton rapper appeared on the remix of Post’s quintuple-platinum anthem “Wow.”

Post Malone says of Twelve Carat Toothache, "I think this whole record is the most honest record I've made, and I'm so pumped for people to hear it. Every song in there tells a story."

He’s been grinding since his childhood in Dallas, and his work ethic brought him from humble beginnings to worldwide superstardom. He grew up listening to his dad’s Metallica, Megadeth, Johnny Cash, UGK, and Notorious B.I.G. records before trading his Guitar Hero controller for an electric guitar at age eleven. After graduating high school and releasing his first mixtape online, he picked up and headed west to Los Angeles, which would become home. Despite “partying too much” and not “having any money for cigarettes or Ramen,” the 19-year-old met production duo FKi and started making music. The rest is history.
