Paradise Now finds Obongjayar at his most fearless and refined, channeling raw emotion, warped beauty, and genre-blurring ambition into a 15-track fever dream that hits as hard as it haunts.

If you are already a fan of Obongjayar, you know he crafts immersive worlds with every release, and Paradise Now stands as his most vivid and daring vision yet. This 15-track album is an electrified, soul-baring ride through desire, doubt, grief, and joy - all wrapped in synth-laced pop, Afro-futurist flair, and a voice that can melt or shatter, depending on the moment.

The first single “Sweet Danger” set the mood - seductive, swaggering, and just unhinged enough to keep you leaning in. Produced by a high-caliber crew that includes Kwes Darko, Yeti Beats, and Beach Noise, the track pulses with sultry guitars, cinematic horns, and Obongjayar’s signature vocal elasticity. The accompanying video is a fever dream full of late-night characters living out their own twisted glamor. It’s raw, it’s reckless, and it’s entirely Obongjayar.

“Sweet Danger” followed earlier singles “Not In Surrender” and “Just My Luck,” each a different entry point into the kaleidoscopic world of Paradise Now. Written between London and L.A., the album is both personal diary and dancefloor sermon, as Obongjayar unpacks everything from FOMO and procrastination to grief and transcendence. It’s also deeply solitary. Aside from a single guest spot by close friend and collaborator Little Simz, Paradise Now is all OB, standing centerstage and unfiltered.

Born in Lagos and raised in Calabar, Obongjayar moved to the UK at 18 and he brings the best of both musical worlds with him. Early obsessions with Nelly and Usher morphed into a deeper embrace of his Nigerian musical heritage, and his genre-jumping output since has been nothing short of boundary-busting. From Ivor Novello-winning tracks to viral hits like “adore u” with Fred Again.., Obongjayar has quietly become one of the most vital voices in UK music today.
