Prepare for a descent into the abyss with doom/death metal pioneers My Dying Bride as they shake the very foundations of everything with their powerful new album, A Mortal Binding.

Following the spectral echoes of The Ghost Of Orion in 2020, My Dying Bride, now fortified by the permanent inclusion of guitarist Neil Blanchett and return of drummer Dan Mullins, plunges headlong into the depths of anguish, despair, and whatever lies in between.

From the raw anguish of "Her Dominion" to the twisted horror of "Thornwyck Hymn," and the funeral elegy of the 11-minute monolith "The Apocalyptist," A Mortal Binding bears all the hallmarks of the band’s sinister genius. If Songs Of Darkness, Words Of Light elevated them to new heights and A Map of All Our Failures expanded upon their grandeur, then A Mortal Binding is the harbinger of a new era of mournful misery for the band.

The album’s difficult birth was marked by personal struggles and global troubles, but from the shadows of uncertainty the band harnessed their collective pain and transformed it into something more, a haunting symphony of suffering and despair. Guitarist Andrew Craighan's tireless quest for six string greatness served as the driving force behind the album's inception, with riffs forged in the crucible of chaos finding their way into the band's dark heart. With Blanchett joining the fray, the creative dynamic reached new heights, breathing life into songs that reside outside the normal mortal imagination. With the help of studio wizard Mark Mynett, the daunting task of capturing the band’s essence began and A Mortal Binding took on its final shape, rendering the darkness and despair into a record of heaviness and haunting intensity.
