Mirador's self-titled debut unites Greta Van Fleet’s Jake Kiszka and Ida Mae’s Chris Turpin in a blazing new vision of rock rooted in myth, blues, and raw power.
Mirador are here to shake the ground. Born from ancient myth, folk traditions, and the raw spirit of Delta blues, their sound is a fiery incantation of rock ‘n’ roll that feels both timeless and new.
The band is co-led by Jake Kiszka, Grammy-winning co-founder of Greta Van Fleet, and Chris Turpin of Ida Mae. Together they trade guitar and vocal duties while weaving a new mythology of their own. “Mirador comes from a deep passion for rock ‘n’ roll, early folk, and country blues as well as folklore,” says Turpin. Kiszka adds, “There’s an unspoken mysticism. You can trace it back to the stories of meeting the devil at the crossroads, selling your soul, and losing your mind to the wind. Mirador definitely inhabits a lot of that. We’re hyper aware of our lineage, so we can build our own future as a band.”
The world first caught a glimpse of that fire when the band spent a month opening for Greta Van Fleet’s Starcatcher world tour in 2024, sharpening their sound under the spotlight night after night. Energized by that trial by fire, the group headed straight into the studio with acclaimed producer Dave Cobb, where they tracked their debut album live in just two weeks. The result is Mirador, a record that fuses roots and mysticism with the relentless drive of rock at its most fearless.
With the album’s release, Kiszka, Turpin, and company carve out a path that pushes past the familiar boundaries of the genre. They are not simply adding their names to the long history of rock, but rewriting the script with a vision built on passion, grit, and spirit. Mirador have arrived, and they are playing for keeps.
