Miles Miller’s Solid Gold is a love story, but about love being around and love leaving, an album about the cycle of a love story that goes away.

If you’re a fan of the country, Americana, and bluegrass world, it's without a doubt you’ve already heard Miles Miller from his unwavering groove and feel, to his seamless high lonesome harmonies. Recording and touring globally with artists like Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers, and Town Mountain, he made a name for himself as "the" drummer for the country/Americana surge of the last decade. While drumming and singing put him on the map, playing guitar is Miles’ first love. The pandemic provided time to bring years of song ideas to life. Honing in his songwriting while slowly crafting his voice and vision, it became evident that the time had come to step away from the drum kit and create a career of his own namesake. In January of 2022, he recorded his debut solo album, Solid Gold.

Solid Gold is an entire story essentially about wanting to get back to the love you have, realizing you shouldn’t give it away, to love leaving, hitting the road because of it leaving, feeling love on the road, to realizing you need to keep walking and wish them well.

Solid Gold was a long time in the making; personally and professionally,” explains Miller. “I had always known I would record my own record with my own songs, but at the time of realizing that, I hadn’t lived any life yet to sing about anything. It was only through years of having a drummer’s backseat in the music industry, and living life outside of it, that I finally had enough to say. Through persistent pressure from Sturgill asking, ‘what’s in those notebooks?’ I decided to sing him all of these songs. We planned accordingly to record when the time was right. Come January 2022, we hit the studio with an amazing crew of musicians and engineers and recorded 12 songs in 3 days.”
