There are few rock guitarists on this planet who have had such a lasting influence on so many renowned musicians as Michael Schenker, and today the man known as the “Mad Axeman” returns with Universal.

With his outstandingly fluid style, inexhaustible wealth of ideas and instinctive feel for hooks and melodies, Michael Schenker is a living legend who, despite his longstanding and distinguished history, still impresses with his unflagging energy and drive.

The blond axeman from Sarstedt who began his career in the early 1970s with Scorpions, achieved worldwide fame with British rock group UFO, and then seamlessly continued his exceptional global success story as a solo artist, with the Michael Schenker Group/MSG, Temple Of Rock, and Michael Schenker Fest. Schenker and his career, which has spanned more than fifty years, are absolute exceptions in a music industry where careers are otherwise short‐lived.

In addition to vocalists Ronnie Romero (Rainbow), Michael Kiske (Helloween), Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear) and Gary Barden (MSG), Universal also features a “who’s who” of guest musicians from the rock and metal world including Simon Phillips (Toto, The Who), Brian Tichy (Whitesnake, Foreigner), Bobby Rondinelli (Rainbow, Blue Öyster Cult), Bob Daisley (Black Sabbath), Barry Sparks (Malmsteen, Dokken), Barend Courbois (Blind Guardian, Zakk Wylde), and Tony Carey (Rainbow).

Universal was produced by Michael Voss (Lessmann/Voss, Mad Max) and features amazing cover artwork by Zsofia Dankova. And on the CD version you’ll find two bonus tracks.
