For Orquídeas, Kali Uchis took inspiration from the alluring mystique of Colombia's national flower, the orchid, while collaborating with a stellar lineup including KAROL G, Peso Pluma, El Alfa, and JT from City Girls.

Grammy Award-winning sensation Kali Uchis is back with a sizzling new record that looks to set the Latin music scene ablaze once again. Orquídeas, her fourth studio album and triumphant return to Spanish-language music, mixes reggaeton, dembow, bolero, and salsa, with her Colombian roots deeply embedded in the essence of the album. Orquídeas draws inspiration from the alluring mystique of Colombia's national flower, the orchid. Uchis, drawn to its timeless beauty, describes the album as a celebration of the orchid's grace, sensuality, and enigmatic charm. In a bold statement, she expresses her desire to redefine the perception of Latinas in the music industry through this diverse collection of songs.

The album's kickoff in August was nothing short of an event, as Uchis dropped "Muñekita," a collaboration with Dominican dembow singer El Alfa and JT. The track served as the beacon for a new era of Spanish-language music, setting the stage for the electrifying journey ahead. She brought them in after a longtime mutual admiration. Kali had exchanged numerous DMs with both artists before JT came over to her L.A. studio, heard the track and cut a verse. She then got a version over to El Alfa who enthusiastically added his contribution. “I love bringing artists together that you’d least expect,” said Uchis. “El Alfa is a Latino legend and JT is coming for everything she deserves this year as a solo artist. Both of them are known for their summer hits and high energy, so I’m incredibly excited to bring them together for a fun, sexy song like this.” Another track released early saw fellow Colombians Kali Uchis and Karol G united for the “Labios Mordidos.” “I’m so excited for the Kuchis to finally have one of my favorite songs on Orquídeas with one of my favorite artists, Karol,” Uchis gushes.

Uchis' previous album, Red Moon In Venus, released in March, captured widespread critical acclaim. The album, featuring the gold-certified "Moonlight" and other tracks with artists like Summer Walker, Don Toliver, and Omar Apollo, marked her first Top 10 charting album, debuting at an impressive No. 4 on the Billboard 200. The success continued with a sold-out, two-part headlining Red Moon In Venus tour, where Uchis enchanted audiences at famous venues like the Hollywood Bowl, Radio City Music Hall, and the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. The Colombian-American artist's influence also extended beyond that to new audiences, with well-received performances at Coachella, where she shared the stage with surprise guests Tyler, The Creator, Omar Apollo, and Don Toliver. Uchis also performed at Lollapalooza in Chile, Argentina, and Brazil, and Estéreo Picnic in her home country.

Raised between Virginia and Colombia, Kali Uchis emerged onto the scene with Por Vida in 2015 and solidified her position with the critically acclaimed 2018 debut, Isolation. Her accolades include Grammy awards, Billboard Latin Music awards, Billboard Music awards, American Music awards, Premios Nuestra Tierra, and Univision Premios Juventud. Notably, her 2021 hit "telepatía" holds the record for the longest-running Spanish song by a solo act on the Billboard Hot 100 this decade, with an impressive 23-week streak and over two billion streams.

With Orquídeas, Kali Uchis continues to carve her path as a boundary-breaking artist, seamlessly blending genres and cultures to create an intoxicating blend. The album is a celebration of Latinas in music and a testament to Uchis' unrelenting passion and creativity.
