Since emerging from West London with a sleek, mysterious blend of funk, soul, electronic music and modern pop, the duo-turned-trio known as Jungle has steadily transformed itself from an intriguing studio project into a global live phenomenon. Now, they’re ready to step into the light with Sunshine, their eagerly anticipated new album.

The record follows 2023’s Volcano, the album that turned Jungle’s rising momentum into a full-scale international breakthrough when its platinum smash “Back On 74” became a genuine worldwide sensation. The album also earned the group its first BRIT Award, solidifying Jungle’s place among Britain’s most adventurous dance-pop groups.

At the center of Sunshine is the chemistry between founding members J Lloyd and Tom McFarland and vocalist-producer Lydia Kitto, who officially joined the group in 2023. Kitto takes the spotlight on “The Wave,” her vocals gliding through the skillfully executed production of Jungle’s founding songwriters. The track follows “Carry On,” which earned the distinction of BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record.

Jungle’s music has always been built for clubs and parties, but their live shows have become an essential part of the equation, the band’s previous global tour drew more than 190,000 people across 2023 and 2024. With Sunshine, they’re poised to take that communal energy even further.

The story began back in Shepherd’s Bush, where Lloyd-Watson and McFarland met at age 10. They started making music together in 2013, initially keeping their identities deliberately obscured and allowing the songs, artwork and videos to speak first. Their self-titled 2014 debut became a Mercury Prize nominee and eventually earned gold certification. For Ever followed in 2018, reaching the U.K. Top 10, while 2021’s Loving In Stereo topped Billboard’s Current Electronic Albums chart.Then came Volcano, which pushed Jungle to another level, reaching No. 3 in the U.K. and winning the BRIT Award for Group of the Year.
