Something There: Remembering Jeffrey Foskett is the first-ever anthology honoring the late singer, featuring unreleased tracks and guest appearances from Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Christopher Cross, and more.

Jeffrey Foskett may not have been a household name, but his voice — soaring, golden, unmistakable — was central to some of the most beloved sounds in pop history. On Something There: Remembering Jeffrey Foskett, that voice is brought back into the spotlight with the first-ever anthology dedicated to the late artist’s career. The 25-track collection spans decades of solo work, collaborations, and unreleased gems, featuring guest appearances from Brian Wilson, Mike Love, America, Robert Lamm (Chicago), Christopher Cross, and Los Straitjackets.

Discovered by Love in a Santa Barbara bar in the early ’80s, Foskett went from local singer to the unofficial “Vice-Principal” of the Beach Boys, lending his flawless falsetto to their late-’80s comeback and later becoming a trusted creative partner to Wilson during the SMiLE era. Whether leading Brian’s touring band, reuniting the Beach Boys for their 50th anniversary, or crafting pristine solo albums, Foskett channeled the spirit of California into every note he sang.

“Jeff’s voice is one of the top five greatest voices I’ve ever heard, because of the way he expresses himself,” said Brian Wilson. “It blows me away.” Robert Lamm of Chicago called it “a perfect instrument — flawless pitch, in the pocket, completely committed to the performance.” And America’s Gerry Beckley added, “Jeff is a talent of immeasurable beauty… Very rarely does someone combine [all those qualities] to create something truly signature. Jeff’s is such a voice.”

Something There includes essential tracks like “Everybody,” “I Live For The Sun,” and the aching title cut, alongside more than a dozen previously unreleased recordings, including “Mary Honey,” a never-before-heard Brian Wilson song. It’s a fitting tribute to a talent that, as Goldmine once wrote, was “quite simply, the best kept secret in Pop Music!”

Foskett passed in December 2023 after a long battle with throat cancer, but this collection ensures his voice will keep shining down like a Pacific sunset — warm, eternal, and unmistakably Californian.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Jeffrey Foskett Endowment at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
