James' 18th studio album Yummy includes a bonus disc of raw demos that shed light on the band's creative process and their iconic Britpop legacy since emerging from Manchester's vibrant scene in 1982.

James have unveiled Yummy, their 18th studio album. Available on various formats including classic black vinyl, a special color vinyl edition, CD, and a deluxe 2CD set, Yummy offers something for every music enthusiast. Notably, the deluxe edition boasts an additional CD titled Pudding, which adds 12 tracks to the 12 on the album proper.

The bonus tracks that make up Pudding are demos crafted by James' four songwriters and offer a glimpse into the band's creative process. While technically not part of Yummy, the bonus disc showcases the raw essence of James' music, featuring original compositions and vocals from the initial jam sessions. Although these tracks didn't progress to the album stage, they exhibit immense potential and creativity. They shine a light on the band's rigorous approach to songwriting, with over 100 jams explored before selecting the final compositions. In a nod to their tradition of crafting B-sides, James regards these additional tracks as the equivalent for Yummy.

Formed in Manchester in 1982 James built a sizable following throughout the burgeoning Manchester scene and far beyond. Thanks to UK top 10 singles like “Come Home," "Sit Down," "She's a Star," and "Laid," which also found a home on college radio in the US the band are considered one of the cornerstones of Britpop.
