Renowned artist Gao Hong, following the success of her award-winning album Terri Kunda - House of Friendship released in 2023, has once again collaborated, this time with flamenco guitarist Ignacio Lusardi Monteverde. The fusion of Chinese pipa and flamenco guitar presents a captivating musical exchange, seamlessly uniting seemingly disparate cultures.

Both Gao Hong and Ignacio Lusardi Monteverde boast illustrious careers, having collaborated with esteemed musicians such as James Newton, Issam Rafea, and Shubhendra Rao, among others. Their partnership signifies a convergence of exceptional talent and expertise.

Gao Hong once again delivers yet another spectacular album, merely a year after her previous success. This time, facilitated by a rare opportunity to record at Abbey Road Studios, Gao and Ignacio present Alondra, a musical travelogue spanning from ancient Asian dynasties to the landscapes of Andalusia.

Reflecting on the collaboration, Gao acknowledges the novelty and challenge of working with a flamenco guitarist, stating, "I had never worked with a flamenco guitarist before; in the past, I have only worked with classical guitarists and a guitar quartet, so I felt that this would be the biggest challenge for me. I love to take risks."

With meticulous preparation, the duo intertwines Ignacio's structured flamenco style with Gao's improvisational mastery, resulting in a spontaneous yet harmonious celebration of cultural diversity.
