Multi-million selling hard rockers Extreme return with their new studio album SIX, with 12 tracks ranging from funk-tinged bangers to soaring ballads as only Extreme can deliver.

With the force of a wrecking ball, Extreme swing between unapologetic fits of fret-burning hard rock and intimately introspective balladry. This dynamic affirms the iconic multiplatinum Boston quartet - Gary Cherone (vocals), Nuno Bettencourt (guitar), Pat Badger (bass), and Kevin Figueiredo (drums) - as one of rock’s most unpredictable, undeniable, and unbreakable groups whose songs course through the very fabric of popular culture. They’ve sold 10 million records, topped the Billboard Hot 100, packed arenas on multiple continents, memorably performed at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in London, and regularly average over five million monthly listeners on Spotify. And their dynamic approach hits harder than ever on their new album, SIX.

Spearheaded by the songwriting team of vocalist Gary Cherone and guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, who blessed the world with chart toppers like “More Than Words” and “Hole Hearted,” SIX is an essential addition to Extreme’s discography. With its signature riff, album opener and first single “Rise” will no doubt fire up legions of fans and get them on their feet. Elsewhere, “Other Side Of The Rainbow” showcases the band’s gift for passionate acoustic magic. It’s everything the fans have been waiting for. Even for a band that has always advised their fans to expect the unexpected, no one could have foreseen the band coming out with one of their most enduring albums 38 years into their career - but here we are.

“Whatever you think an Extreme album is after two or even three songs, it’s not,” states Nuno. “That goes for every record we’ve ever done. True Extreme fans know to ‘expect the unexpected’.”

Formed in 1985, the group’s quiet grind resulted in the release of the self-titled Extreme in 1989. Then in 1990, Extreme II: Pornograffitti entered the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 and eventually picked up a double-platinum certification. Notably, it spawned “Hole Hearted” and the generational smash “More Than Words.” The latter remains one of the most popular rock songs of all-time with over half-a-billion streams and 633 million YouTube views and counting. In its wake, the gold-certified III Sides To Every Story saw them return to the Billboard 200 Top 10. Waiting For The Punchline (1995) and Saudades de Rock (2008) followed and the band continued to deliver to the masses on tour. Along the way, everyone from Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine and Brian May of Queen to John Mayer publicly sung their praises. On top of that, Gary was lead singer for Van Halen (Van Halen III) and has recorded and performed with Joe Perry, while Nuno has recorded and performed with Steven Tyler and Rihanna, whom he played with at the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show where his guitar featured a graphic from SIX to tease the album.
