EPiC: Elvis Presley In Concert pulls from newly unearthed live recordings and inventive reworks to show Presley at his most fearless onstage, loose, searching, and electrifying in the moment.
Baz Luhrmann’s EPiC: Elvis Presley In Concert is a 27 track set drawn from the film that pairs restored live performances with newly created remixes and medleys. Rather than treating the material as untouchable history, the album reshapes familiar Elvis recordings while preserving the intensity and emotional charge of his live work.
The project grew out of Luhrmann’s discovery of long hidden footage in the Warner Brothers vaults while working on ELVIS, including performances from Elvis: The Way It Is and Elvis On Tour, along with unseen 8mm film and unheard audio of Elvis speaking about his life. Years of restoration revealed an artist fully at ease on stage, deeply connected to his audience, and communicating with unusual warmth and humor.
Those qualities carry into the soundtrack’s more experimental moments, where remixes and medleys are used to imagine how Elvis might have continued to explore new sounds. Executive produced by Luhrmann, EPiC: Elvis Presley In Concert reframes the King's later live performances as restless, forward thinking, and vividly human, presenting him not as a fixed icon, but as a performer still searching and still electrifying.
