Doro raises her fist and bares her heart on Wild At Heart, mixing metal anthems and bittersweet ballads with a live “Touch Of Evil” featuring Alissa White-Gluz.
For Doro, the distance between the stage and the front row has always felt smaller than it looks. That connection drives Wild At Heart. With fresh songs ready for her winter tour, the German metal trailblazer delivers a dose of anthems, hard-hitting metal, and bittersweet ballads, putting heart behind every battle cry.
Leading the charge is “Rock You 2 Death,” the first single, released September 18. Its accompanying video pairs footage filmed in Sweden with live clips from Wacken Open Air, setting the scene for a song made to travel from the stage to the back of the festival field.
“‘Rock You 2 Death’ is a great sing-along anthem, very much in the style of ‘We Are The Metal Heads’ and ‘Raise Your Fist In The Air,’” Doro explains. “This song is also going to go off live!”
That communal spirit runs through the release, while “You R Not Alone” brings its emotional side into focus. The ballad’s message of reassurance makes room for a different kind of strength, offering a hand to hold alongside the fists in the air. Elsewhere, “I Believe In Love,” “Fight Like A Lion,” and “Stay With Me” join a lineup capped by a massive live version of Warlock’s “Touch Of Evil,” featuring Alissa White-Gluz.
“The new tracks on ‘Wild At Heart’ are all songs close to my heart; many of them were written in the past few weeks,” Doro says. “I wanted to have brand-new songs ready for the upcoming tour that would really ignite both on the album and live.”
With the winter tour's kick-off coinciding with the album's release, these songs won’t have to wait long to meet their audience. Doro already has her sights on adding new favorites to the setlist, giving longtime fans fresh reasons to raise their voices. Wild At Heart carries that invitation from the first chorus: turn it up, stand together, and sing like you belong there.
