Doja Cat roars back with Vie, a 15-track album alive with retro textures and infused with the spirit of the '70s and '80s. More than a collection of songs, it’s a reflection of her own evolution, pulling listeners into stories of love, life, and all the chaos that comes with both.
Her rise began more than a decade ago when she uploaded her first track to Soundcloud at just 16. Growing up in Los Angeles, she studied piano and dance while absorbing influences from Busta Rhymes, Erykah Badu, Nicki Minaj, and Drake. In 2014 she released her debut EP Purrr! and first full-length Amala in 2018. That same year her playful single “MOOO!” made her a viral sensation and introduced her to a global audience.
Momentum surged with Hot Pink in 2019, a Grammy-nominated, platinum-selling album that produced the viral smash “Streets” and the multi-platinum number one “Say So.” By the time Planet Her arrived in 2021, she had all but guaranteed herself as one of pop’s most influential artists. That album generated record-breaking streams and produced hits like “Kiss Me More” with SZA, “You Right” with The Weeknd, and “Need to Know,” giving her a huge crossover boost.
Her fourth album Scarlet, released in 2023, pushed her even further, spawning the four-time platinum “Paint the Town Red” and the double-platinum “Agora Hills.” That success carried her through her first North American headline run, The Scarlet Tour, and into a show-stopping headlining set at Coachella 2024.
