Def Leppard - Diamond Star Heroes: Live From Sheffield

Def Leppard ignite their hometown on Diamond Star Heroes Live From Sheffield, a stadium-sized blast of hits, rare cuts, and pure Sheffield fire.

Def Leppard never forget where they came from. Forty-seven years after forming in a pub rehearsal space, the five who defined Sheffield rock returned to Bramall Lane in 2023 and tore into a hometown show that felt both celebratory and emotional. Now, that night arrives in full with Diamond Star Heroes Live From Sheffield in multiple formats, including Blu-ray+2CD, 2CD, 2LP, and the band’s first-ever 4K UHD package.

The setting mattered. Bramall Lane, home to Sheffield United FC, has watched decades of football triumphs and heartbreak, but on May 22, 2023, it became a cathedral of guitars. Nearly 40,000 fans packed inside to welcome Joe Elliott, Phil Collen, Rick Savage, Vivian Campbell, and Rick Allen back to the place that shaped them. The LP edition even reflects that pride, pressed on red, white, and black splatter vinyl that mirrors the Blades’ home kit colors.

The show captured Def Leppard at full flight. They ran through giants like “Photograph” and “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” but also carved space for their UK live debuts of “Take What You Want” and “This Guitar,” the latter dedicated to the memory of Steve Clark. It’s a reminder of the band’s history, their resilience, and the bond that still drives them.

The 4K UHD version goes even deeper, adding One Night Only Live At The Leadmill, filmed on the eve of the tour. Before stepping into a stadium, the band hit the beloved Sheffield club for a sweat-soaked warm-up in front of fewer than 900 die-hard fans. That set pulled from every era, stretching from On Through The Night all the way to Diamond Star Halos, offering a rare glimpse of a global rock powerhouse reconnecting with its roots.

Def Leppard remain one of the strongest forces in rock. With 110 million albums sold and a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction under their belts, their catalog includes era-defining milestones like Pyromania and Hysteria. But Diamond Star Heroes Live From Sheffield shows something numbers can’t measure. It’s the sound of a band returning home, playing with hunger, joy, and gratitude for the city that gave them a start and still embraces them all these years later.
