Following multiple teases on social media in June, Beyoncé returns with Renaissance, her first studio album in six years.

Those teases on social media included the removal of Beyoncé’s display pictures from her Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube pages, letting fans know something new was on the horizon.

Following Beyoncé’s last studio album, 2016’s Lemonade, Renaissance looks set to eclipse her previous record’s massive critical and commercial success, which included nine Grammy nominations and two awards for Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best Music Video for the song “Formation.”

One mystery about Renaissance not yet solved is the inclusion of “act 1” near the title on her website, leading many fans to believe this is just the beginning of a larger Renaissance project. We’ll have to wait and see. After all, this is Beyoncé’s world, the rest of us just live in it.
