Celebrating influences like Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, Alex Rudi Pell's Risen Symbol abounds with infectious hooks and authentic musicality.

On his 22nd studio album, Risen Symbol, Alex Rudi Pell maintains the banner of melodic hard rock, unwavering in his commitment to authentic musicality, eschewing trends and superfluous studio embellishments. While staying true to his signature style, Pell remains open to new influences and captivating inspirations, always in pursuit of infectious hooks.

A renowned feature of Pell's anthems is their seamless alignment with the charismatic voice of frontman Johnny Gioeli. Together with former Rainbow drummer Bobby Rondinelli, and longstanding band members Ferdy Doernberg (keyboards) and Volker Krawczak (bass), this lineup has formed a well-oiled machine that continues to thrill fans on both stage and record alike.

Throughout Pell's music, influences like Dio-era Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin shine through, particularly evident in tracks like "Ankhaia." This anthemic piece, infused with some Asian flair, exudes echoes of the British rock legends Jimmy Page and Robert Plant. Pell humorously quips, "To me, ‘Ankhaia’ is the number that Led Zeppelin forgot to compose," highlighting the contemporary twist and formidable drum groove.

The album also features a bold rendition of Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song," uniquely arranged by the band. Pell reveals, "I discussed the idea [of the track] with our drummer Bobby Rondinelli, who also drums in a Led Zeppelin cover band. Bobby thought it was great and agreed with me that to get away with a number like that, you need an outstanding singer like Johnny Gioeli."
