As December Falls crank the volume and defy the odds on Everything’s On Fire But I’m Fine, a fearless, hook-packed fourth album built to ignite both old fans and new.
Nottingham’s As December Falls aren’t the kind of band that wait for permission to make noise. Four albums in, still fiercely independent, and now stepping up with Everything’s On Fire But I’m Fine, they’ve proved that you don’t need a label, management, or industry machinery to light up the charts, just a loyal army of "Fallers" and a refusal to slow down.
Following the success of their chart-topping Join The Club, the band spent more time in the studio than ever before, crafting 14 tracks of what vocalist Bethany Hunter calls “perfectly crafted mayhem.” Working once again with producer Alex Copp, and bringing mixer Sam Guaiana and mastering engineer Mike Kalajian into the fold, they built an album that stretches far beyond their early pop-punk roots. From piano-driven ballads to towering anthems, gritty breakdowns to tracks inspired by the neon-lit undercity of Netflix's Arcane, every corner of the record feels sharpened and intentional.
Hunter describes the album as their most daring yet, one built for both day-one fans and brand-new listeners. “It feels like every record has been building to this point,” she says. “I’m so excited for this new album to take the world by storm.” That storm is already brewing. Early singles like “Burn It All Down” and “Ready Set Go” show a band unafraid to be both vulnerable and ferocious, turning raw emotion into air-punching, glitter-lit choruses.
Already a rock zine favorte, Alt Press has praised their “contagious, air-punching rock fuelled by glittering riffs and heavenly vocals.” Rock Sound hears a group “driven by powerhouse vocals” ready for the biggest festival stages, while Kerrang! says they’re “a loud band with a big future.”
