The House marks something of a departure for Katie Melua. With her new producer William Orbit, the techno-reliant artist most known for producing Madonna's Ray of Light presented a younger, funkier sound and darker broodings from Melua's whispery voice.
On June 4th 2010, The House entered the Billboard pan-European album chart at number 1.
